The Vanishing Road

In the much-anticipated follow up to The Grapevine, Lou Gomersall is back on the road in the family RV Lady Luck, now with her husband Brian at her side, on a mission to find their missing twenty-year-old daughter Abby.

Thanks to Lou’s investigation, suspected serial killer Brydon DeVries is in custody, and Lou and Brian have reason to hope Abby survived and escaped. They suspect that the trauma of Abby’s abduction has caused catastrophic memory loss, and that she is now traveling with a mysterious off-grid conspiracy theorist known only as Pappy.

The trail takes her north toward California’s Emerald Triangle in Humboldt County where she and young journalist, Ethan Ito, navigate paranoid marijuana workers, human traffickers, and original growers, after agreeing to help find a missing young woman.

Lou and Ethan find themselves on the trail of murder deep within Humboldt’s lawless boundaries. They uncover leads and bodies, crooked cops, mass graves, and the depths of human depravity, leading to a horrifying and bloody showdown.
